David George Fulford, fondly known as Dave, was born on May 29, 1944, in Manitoba, Canada, and passed away on June 30, 2023, in Midland City, Alabama. Dave was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Dave's early life started in Manitoba, Canada, and at the tender age of 7, he moved to Torrence, California, where he spent his formative years. As a teenager, his passion for fixing things began when he purchased his first car at 14 and completely rebuilt it. Dave was a man of many talents, often said to have a knack for repairing anything he set his mind to. His interests and talents were as diverse as they were fascinating, which made him an intriguing person to be around.
In 1992, Dave met and married the love of his life, Becky Fulford. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and warmth. Dave was a loving father to Lisa Vaughn and stepfather to Atresa Farmer and Scott Walker. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Piper and Skylar Vaughn and step-grandfather to Justin, Davis, and Lauralee Farmer. He also had the joy of being a step-great-grandfather to Knox Farmer. Dave was a good brother to Grant (Tammy) Fulford and Terry (Jolene) Fulford. Dave is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. His family was his pride and joy, and he enjoyed every moment spent with them.
Dave had a unique hobby of flying remote control airplanes. Despite the occasional crash resulting in a million pieces, he always found joy in putting them back together. This was a testament to his determination and resilience. He was a very patriotic man who loved America, so much so that he became a United States Citizen in 2001.
Dave was known for his intelligence, handy skills, and friendly demeanor. He had the reputation of being tough at work, but those who knew him best described him as a teddy bear at heart. He believed in doing things right and was often referred to as a truth finder.
As Albert Einstein once said, "The measure of intelligence is the ability to change." Dave embodied this quote through his ability to adapt, learn, and grow throughout his life. He was a problem solver, always ready to tackle challenges head-on.
Dave's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was a testament to the power of passion, hard work, and love. He will be remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest, loved his family unconditionally, and always had a kind word for those around him. His loss will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
