Keith Cook, a resident of Ashford, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 at a local hospital. He was 60 years old.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mike Grimes officiating. Burial with police honors will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9-11 am. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Dothan Police Foundation in Keith's memory, 210 N. St. Andrews Street, Dothan, AL 36303.

Keith was born on June 26, 1962 in Chattahoochee, Florida and lived the early years of his life in Marianna, Florida. He was a 1981 graduate of Dothan High School, but moved to Ashford where he has resided for the past 21 years. Keith began his career in law enforcement with the Houston County Sherriff's Office as a Jailer, then a Deputy and later an investigator. He began working with the Dothan Police Department as a Patrol Officer and then as an Investigator for the past 15 years. Keith was a fun loving and wonderful family man, he relished any time he had to spend with his friends and family. He was a known for his practical jokes, pulling many pranks on unsuspecting friends! Keith enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles and four wheelers. Coaching his wife's softball team with Gordon Hobbs was also a favorite pastime but pulling for the Alabama Crimson Tide was a must.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Hilton and Phoebe Granger Cook and by his brother, Kenny Allen Cook.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Teresa Cook; his son, Briceson Cook; his mother-in-law, Charlotte (Doug) Morris; his brothers-in-law, Anthony (Marie) Smith and Tim Smith; his sisters, Rhonda Clark, Linda Fisher; several nieces and nephews, including Scott and Dana Anners, Chase and Amber Clark, Paxton Smith and his son, Christian Smith, Trent and Maegon Smith, and Griggs Smith; several great nieces and nephews, Maddie Anners, Andrew Anners, and Will Anners.
