The funeral service will be held at 1 pm Sunday, January 17, 2021 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charlie Newman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
Alan, otherwise known as "Pork Chop", was born April 1, 1960 in Ozark, Alabama. He graduated from Skipperville High School. After graduation, he resided in Dale county for most of his life. He was currently employed with Wise Forklift. Alan enjoyed spending time with his family, and he loved being a Poppy. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, work on cars, and stroll on the beach. One of his favorite activities was watching Auburn football, of which he was a huge fan. Motorcycle rides on his Green Mean Machine was another of his favorite things to do. He had a very goofy sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Alan will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Etheridge and Mary Jane Etheridge.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bette Moore; mother of his two daughters, Barbara Jane Moore; his 2 daughters, Shasta (Jeff) Ward, Tiffany (Adam) Griffin; his bonus children, Devan (Karina) Mose, Brigett (Lawrence) Davenport, Betsy Mose, and Nicholas Mose (Jimea Davenport); his 13 grandchildren; his four siblings, Connie (Anusorn) Saetang, Teresa (Randy) Hendricks, Tom (Rebekah) Moore, and Amelia (Tommy) Pryor; two aunts, Jilda (Billy) Thrasher and Agnes (Don) Johnson; one uncle, Dwight (Anette) Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
