Albert Rainey

July 12, 1933 — October 16, 2016

Albert Rainey, 83, of Dothan, passed away October 16, 2016 at Flowers Hospital.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Wednesday October 19, 2016 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Sam Parks officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday.

Mr. Rainey was born in Terrell, Georgia on July 12, 1933 where he resided his earlier years. He joined the United States Naval Reserve and was later employed with Borden Milk and Ice Cream Company for 6 years. He moved to Dothan in 1963 and worked with Sanitary Dairy and worked as a food broker with Merchant Food Services until his retirement. Mr. Rainey loved old cars, clocks, and was a big Alabama football fan. He was a member of Cloverdale United Methodist Church, The Joe Dykes Sunday School Class, and served on several boards. He was also a Mason and a Shriner.

Mr. Rainey was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Rainey, Nell Addison, Robert Rainey, Christine Monroe, Douglas Rainey, and Louise Marshall.

Survivors include, his wife, Vaudine Rainey; his two daughters, Kay Bruce Hudson, Karen Curtis Dempsey; 5 grandchildren, Clay Dempsey, Melissa Tatro, Tara Weaver, Craig Dempsey, and Lance Hudson; 5 great-grandchildren, Grace Dempsey, Kaylen McAllister, Carlee McAllister, Cecelia Tatro, and Jacob Tatro; and several nieces and nephews.
