Allen "David" David Money

February 23, 1951 — March 10, 2025

David Allen Money, a cherished family man and friend to many, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at the age of 74, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on February 23, 1951, in Haleburg, Alabama, to the late Lucille Money and the late James Edward Money, Jr., David's life was a testament to the values of hard work, family, and community.

After attending school in Headland, David embarked on a fulfilling career, ultimately retiring from Home Oil Company. His dedication to his profession was paralleled only by his involvement in his community, where he was known for his generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand.

David was a man who could never sit still, always finding joy in "piddling" around the house, tending to his yard, and perfecting his cooking and grilling techniques. His love for being on the move was matched by his skill as a jack of all trades; there was no task too big or too small for his capable hands. His family and friends knew him as the ultimate "people person," someone who could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel at home.

Above all, David cherished his family. He is survived by his son, Allen Money (Dawn), and daughter, Joni Wyatt (Jason). He was a proud grandfather to Cali Bright (Ashton), Samuel Money (Jazmine), Maddie Kennedy, and Brody Wyatt. His legacy also lives on through his siblings, Ann Tomaino, John Money and Monroe Money, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will miss his guidance and warmth. David was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Linda Bell and Betty Scott, and his grandchildren Tyler Money and Payton Money.

David's love for his grandchildren was unparalleled, and he found immense joy in their achievements and milestones. His ability to fix anything made him the go-to person for family and friends alike, earning him the affectionate title of the family's handyman.

In his leisure, David was a true people person, always ready to share a story or a laugh. His presence was a comfort to those who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt by all. His knack for making the most out of every moment left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to cross his path.

David's life was a beautiful mosaic of love, hard work, and dedication to those around him. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy of love, laughter, and the countless lives he touched. David Allen Money will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire us every day.

In honoring David's life, his family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they have received. His memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew him, and his stories will continue to be told for generations to come. David Allen Money's life was a blessing to all, and his memory, a treasure.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home to share memories of David’s life, a life well lived.
