Alvin Maddox

October 30, 1944 — December 8, 2016

Alvin Maddox, 72, a resident of Midland City passed away Thursday December 8, 2016 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11am Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jackson L. Glover officiating.  Burial will follow in Newton Community Cemetery with Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5pm-6pm Monday.

Alvin was affectionately known as “Mut” and he was born in Dale County on October 30, 1944.  He was the second child of Willie and Bama Maddox.  The early spring of his life began with the experiencing of Jesus Christ in his life.  He joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Pinckard, Alabama where he remains a devoted and faithful member.  He attended Mack M. Mathew High School in Pinckard. Alvin worked as a concrete finisher until his retirement.  In the summer of his life Alvin was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Lula Mae Maddox.

He cherished the loving memory of his daughter, Lolita Maddox Mayes; his step children, Neater Johnson and Johnny Droghter; his sisters, Jackie Bobby Stewart, Midland City, Dawn Maddox; his brothers, Stanley Maddox, Midland City and Larry Maddox, Ozark; his step mother, Leoner Maddox, Blackshear, GA; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Odell Clark, Pinckard, Carolyn Doster, Daleville; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his faithful niece, Trenisha Dennis.
