Amanda Nicole Shellhouse

June 13, 1990 — September 2, 2024

Amanda Shellhouse, known affectionately to all as Amanda, was a beacon of joy and adventure to everyone she encountered. Born on June 13, 1990, in the warm heart of summer, Amanda's life was a testament to the power of an unconditionally loving spirit. She departed from this world on September 2, 2024, leaving a legacy of laughter and kindness in Daleville, Alabama.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 1:30 pm in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Clayhatchee, AL. The family will receive friends at Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home from 10:30-12:30 on Saturday, September, 7, 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vivian B. Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, AL 36360.

Amanda was the cherished daughter of Billy and Mary Shellhouse, Jr. of Dothan, Alabama, and Sandra (Tommy Thorne) Shellhouse of Daleville, Alabama. She was the doting granddaughter to Billy and Mary Shellhouse, Sr. of Dothan, Alabama, and was preceded in passing by her maternal grandparents, Thomas "Randolph" and Deloris Salter of Clayhatchee, Alabama. Her loving spirit extended to her siblings, Cindy Shellhouse and Donna (Donovan) Kilpatrick of Dothan, Alabama, and step-brother, Wesley Hamann of Jacksonville, Florida. She was an adored aunt to her niece, Adalynn Kilpatrick, and nephew, Kane Shellhouse, of Dothan, Alabama. Amanda also held a special place in her heart for her paternal aunt, Debbie Shellhouse of Dothan, Alabama, and her bonus family members, Kharri Stewart, Kaitlyn Thorne, and Ryan Thorne of Daleville, Alabama. Her life was further enriched by the companionship of her special friend, Carla Lolong of Dothan, Alabama.

Amanda's education journey was one filled with friendships and learning. As an adult, she treasured her time at Vaughn Blumberg and later at Vivian B. Adams School, where she was not just a student but a beloved part of the community. Amanda was a social butterfly who navigated life with a bossy charm that only endeared her to those around her. Her interests were as wide-ranging as her infectious smile. From her love of the beach, especially a memorable trip to Key West, Florida, to her enthusiasm for music and singing, Amanda lived every moment to its fullest.

As a rock star and princess in her own right, she was deeply involved with the Special Olympics and the Miracle League, showcasing her determined and competitive spirit. Her passion for life was evident in her love of shoes and earrings, and her joyride on the Dothan Fire Truck in the Peanut Festival Parade was a highlight she anticipated with glee. Amanda was a woman who loved a man in uniform, was wonderfully impatient, and was the brightest light in any room. She never met a stranger, for her curiosity and friendliness drew people to her. With a spirit of adventure, she was always ready to explore the unknown.

Amanda's culinary skills were another aspect of her caring nature. She loved to cook, and her dishes were an extension of her love for those she cared for. Her lack of patience was a quirk that those close to her found endearing, and her nosiness was just another way she showed her interest in the lives of others.

Her legacy is one of love and friendship, an adventurous soul who embraced life with open arms and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she met. Amanda's smile could light up the darkest room, and her determination was an inspiration to all. She loved unconditionally and was loved just as fiercely in return.

Amanda Shellhouse lived as she loved: boldly, freely, and with a joy that was contagious. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will continue to shine brightly, a lasting reminder of a life well-lived and a woman who was truly one of a kind.
