Ams2 Leroy (Ret. U.S. Navy) Johnson, Jr.

Leroy Johnson, Jr., a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at a local hospital. He was 81. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Johnson was born on January 27, 1938 in Houston County and lived in Headland and the Donalsonville, GA area most of his life. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Navy where he traveled the world. Mr. Johnson would retire from the military as Aviation Structural Mechanic Petty Officer 2ND Class . He enjoyed buying and selling collector items on eBay. Mr. Johnson loved spending time with his family and with his beloved K9 companion, Sammee. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Johnson, Sr. and Florence Johnson, by his brother, Larry Johnson, and by his dog, Sammee. He leaves to cherish his memories his 3 daughters, Cheri (Tooley) Williams, Teresa (Jim) Eastridge, and Amy (Trey) Trawick; his 5 grandchildren, Nichole (David) White, Heather Williams, Mya Williams, Kyler Eastridge, and Kasey Eastridge; his brother, Paul (Barbara) Johnson; and by his 5 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
