Andrew Taylor

Andrew Adus Andy Taylor, beloved Husband, Daddy, and Papa went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was 85 years old.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Dothan Dr. Johnny Fain and Rev. Bob Gross officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ministers of Community Ministry, First Baptist Church of Dothan, 300 W. Main St., Dothan, AL, 36303.Mr. Taylor was born May 5, 1925 in Newville, Al. He graduated from Headland High School in 1945. He served in the Army during WWII and retired as the Treasurer of Bayline Railroad after 41 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dothan for over 60 years where he served as Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. He was instrumental in starting and serving in the FBC Bus Ministry and was awarded the Deacon Emeritus in 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents Vernard and Mary Etta Taylor of Headland AL.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sybil Peace Taylor of Dothan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Richard Burke of Dothan AL, Kathy and Patrick McCallister of Gulf Breeze FL; one brother, Oyette Jewel Taylor of Headland AL; four grandchildren, Courtney Sean Breedlove of Dothan AL, Drew Leslie Burke of Carlsbad CA, Lindsay Cary Campbell of Louisville KY, Taylor McCallister of Gulf Breeze FL; three great grandchildren, Christopher Breedlove, Burke Breedlove, and Amelie Burke; two great grandbabies on the way and many nieces and nephews.
