Anne Barfield

Anne Barfield, 83, of Dothan, passed away April 17, 2015 at Doctors Memorial Hospital, Bonifay, Florida.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2:00 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Barfield was born November 1, 1931 in Elmore County, Alabama and lived the early part of her life in the Greer Community. She married Grady DeWitt Barfield and resided in Dothan until 2013 when she moved to Bonifay Nursing in Florida. She was employed as an Avon Manager and a World Book Encyclopedia District Manager for several years. She was also a rental property manager. Mrs. Barfield was a member of Berean Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Wheeler and Elizabeth Mann; her husband, Grady Barfield; her daughter, Philis Barfield Beal; and a great-grandson, Isaiah Steven Nelson.

Survivors include her daughters, Janice Barfield Nelson and Alice Barfield; grandchildren, Kelly Nelson Shifflett, Christy Nelson, Steven Nelson, David Beckworth, Mark Beckworth, and Andrew Beckworth; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Betty Parker Mann; four nieces and nephews.
