Annie Merl Bennett

Annie Merl Bennett, 63, a resident of Midland City passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010.

Services will be held 11 am Wed., July 21, 2010 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Frank Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 – 7 pm Tuesday.Ms. Bennett was born on July 18, 1946 in Dale County and resided in Midland City all of her life. She was employed with Ozark Health and Rehab Center for 11 years until her retirement in 2009. Ms. Bennett was an avid gardener and loved raising flowers. She was preceded in death by her grandchild Darius Bennett and her parents Johnny Bennett, Jr. and Bonnie Merl Bennett.She leaves to cherish her memories: one 1 daughter, Beverly Bennett of Dothan, AL, five 5 grandchildren: Ricardo Bennett, Midland City, AL, Brittney Grimsley, Dothan, AL, Octavius Bennett, Midland City, AL, Kevin Bennett, Midland City, AL and Jo-EL Bennett, Dothan, AL; two 2 great- grandchildren, Zykel Bennett and Breallyn Grimsley; one 1 devoted brother J. L. Bennett of Midland City, AL; one 1 niece Bridgett Bennett, Dothan, AL; one 1 sister in law JoAnn Larry Grimsley, Midland City, AL; four 4 Aunts, Dezzie Hart, Miami, FL, Alice Baxter and Loretta Kennedy of Albany, GA, Annie Jewel Walter Brown, Midland City, AL; seven 7 Uncles, J. C. Curry, Midland City, AL, Vincent Dorothy Taylor and Ulysses Williams of Albany, GA, Charles Rosie Bennett, Billy Ray Alice Bennett, Ricky Lamar Corinthia Bennett all of Midland City, AL, Sonny Mack Bennett, Dothan, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
