Close examination of her birth certificate made it appear that she was living a double life. The social security office knew her as Annie instead of "Anna" found on her birth certificate. She didn't want to cause a fuss, so she went along with that name. She was born daughter to Grady and Maudie Jewel Baxley Jimmerson on February 29, 1936. Being a leap year baby drove her a little crazy because she never knew when to celebrate her birthday except every fourth year. It did offer her the distinction of having exactly 5 actual birthdays prior to becoming a mother and 11 prior to becoming a grandmother. Petite with a classic style of the early 1960's, her appearance didn't evoke her daring spirit. Aside from stories told by close friends and family the only mark in her medical history was a broken wrist from a skating accident at her grandson's birthday party. She had a "Try anything once" approach to life. True to that spirit, there were many things that she tried only once. One of the things that Laura remembered most fondly was traveling. She didn't fancy trips to exotic places, instead, she enjoyed the experiences with friends and family that traveling provided. San Francisco, the Cove, family trips to the mountains and the beach. These were the trips that she spoke of often and fondly. Laura could make any plant grow. Flowers were her favorite and when she finally gave up her primary residence to move in with her daughter, not surprisingly, all of her plants moved with her. Occasionally, she would share her plants with friends and family though they didn't thrive as they had under her care. Being a member and officer in the Order of Eastern Star for over 30 years, she made many lifelong friends through that involvement. Independent and private, she spoke more deliberately later in life. When she did, her fondest memories were with family and friends. She was loved by and will be missed by many, but all are comforted that she is now in the arms of God. Survivors include brothers and sisters, Charles Jimmerson, Pat McConnell, Bobby Jimmerson, Sue Greene (Dennis), and Diane Fillingim; a loving number of nieces and nephews; children, Mike Davenport (Kim), and Lisa Till (William); grandchildren, Adam Davenport (Leighann), Robert Davenport, Jason Till (Heather) and Jeremy Till (Allison); great-grandchildren; Catie Davenport, Emily Till, Griffin Till, Adalyn Davenport, Brooks Davenport and Harrison Till; step-great-grandchildren; Macee Sheppard, Josh Sheppard, and Gage Sheppard.
