Annie Pearl Sappington, 89, of Muscle Shoals, AL passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Kirk Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Baptist church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sappington was born April 13, 1923. She has lived in Muscle Shoals, AL for the past 4 1/2 years. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church at Broadway Fellowship in Florence, AL. She loved and was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Sappington was preceded in death by her parents Albert Lonnie and Mamie Mae Brackin; brothers Junior Brackin, Huey Brackin and Woodrow Brackin; sisters Beulah Smith, Mary Smith and Bonnie Dykes; husband Richard Lee Sappington Sr.; daughter Janice Gannon; granddaughter Carol Evans.
Survivors include one brother O D Brackin; children, Richard Lee Sappington Jr. of Lake Wales, FL, Joyce A. Reid Larry of Muscle Shoals, AL, Doyle Lynn Sappington Amanda of Dothan, AL, and Carol Sue Evans of Tuscumbia, AL; grandchildren: Tammy Bustos of Lake Wales, FL, Richard Craig Sappington of Lake Wales, FL, Lisa Torres of Lake Wales, FL, Lynn Earl Sappington of Lake Wales, FL, Phillip Sappington of Lake Wales, FL, Donna Bishop Kirk of Cordova, TN, Cindy Inzano of Los Angeles, CA, Brandy Thompson of Rockdale, TX, Kevin Sappington Suzanne of Warner Robins, GA, Jerry Sappington Rhonda of Indianapolis, IN, Miranda Sappington of Dothan, AL, Mary Ellen Aguila of Winter Haven, FL, Timmy Evans of Skipperville, AL, Becky Kintana of Samson, AL, Lori Creech Steve of Bushnell, FL, Michelle Wiggins of Samson, AL, Randall Paul Evans of Haines City, FL, Joseph Vincent of Dothan, AL, Jack Sappington of Dothan, AL; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends.
Thank you for all of the care and love shown to mother during her illness by all of the doctors and nurses at Helen Keller Hospital in Tuscumbia, AL, the staff at The Cottage of the Shoals Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia, AL and Amedisys Hospice Care in Florence, AL.
