Annie Pearl Stringer

Annie Pearl Stringer was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre, New York. She was 79.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 pm prior to the funeral.

Ms. Stringer was born on November 11, 1937 in Perdido, Alabama where she was educated and lived. Mother Annie Pearl Stringer lived a life of simplicity, determination and very hard work. In her early years, her journey began in Mobile, Alabama leaving her wanting more in life she moved to Long Island, New York. Our Heavenly Father blessed her to have a place of work she loved for over 25 years. Bayview Nursing Home in Long Island, New York was her home away from home. She worked there until her retirement in 2006. As it is written in the book of life, we loved her, but God loved her best. Nothing gave her greater joy than the love of her family and friends. To know her was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Anna Kyles and Johnny Stringer.

Ms. Stringer leaves a legacy of love to be cherished by her children, Gregory Stringer of Long Island, NY, Vickie Stringer of Long Island, NY and Veronica Stringer of Dothan, AL; her siblings, Jacklyn Stringer, Johnnie Francis Stringer, Gwendolyn Stringer, Terry Stringer and Melvina Anwar all of Mobile, AL, Earnestine Welker and Molly Welker of Perdido, AL; her grandchildren, Keisha, Mark, Nicole, Ebony, and Erin; her great-grandchildren, Cypress, Julius, Jilil, Taylersky, Ava and Quentin; and a host of family and friends that meant the world to her.

She will truly be missed. Special thanks to all her neighbors and friends for your love and devotion over the years.
