Anthony Kirkland, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his residence. He was 56. Anthony was born on November 13, 1961 in Dothan, Alabama and lived most of his life in Dothan. He was employed with Merritt's Automotive for several years as an auto mechanic until his medical retirement. Anthony loved the outdoors, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored. Anthony was a member of the Moose Lodge and served as governor from 1996-1998. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Mercer; his sons, James "Andrew" (JoAnn) Kirkland, John Daniel (Brittany) Kirkland and Joshua David (Melissa) Kirkland; his step-sons, Patrick (Jodi) Mercer and Stephen M. (Jade) Mercer, Jr.; six grandchildren; his father, Harold Kirkland; his mother, Jackie Kirkland; his sister, Starla (David) Manley; his favorite "fur baby," Odie; and several nieces and nephews.
