Anthony Merrel Widner (Tony), 55, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on February 7, 2018. The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park with Mark Benson of Dothan First Assembly officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on February 12, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Sunset Memorial Park after the service. Tony was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on September 13, 1962. He went to South Haven High School. Tony served in the United States Army for 11 years. During his service, he fought in Operation Desert Storm. Tony worked as a driver for Fed-Ex for 17 years. Tony was faithful to the Lord and was actively involved in Dothan First Assembly. He enjoyed playing music. He loved to play guitar and sing. He loved his family and friends. His smile and sweet words will always be remembered. Tony is survived by daughters, Elizabeth (Ernie) Haefner and Georgia Widner; his parents, Claud and Edna Widner; his brothers, Claud (Debbie) Widner, John (Terry) Widner and Jerry Widner; his sisters, Angela (Dwaine) Adkins, Rose Marie (Gary) Tackett, Mandy (James) Haynes, and Linda Strohn; and several nieces and nephews. Tony is preceded in death by his mother Beulah Mae Widner (Hibbs). The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park with Mark Benson of Dothan First Assembly officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on February 12, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Sunset Memorial Park after the service.
