Arnold Sam Kimberlin

Arnold "Sam" Kimberlin, Jr., 55, of Dothan passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 6 pm Friday, January 10, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home. Interment services will be held 3 pm Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Trotwood, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the college fund for his grandchildren at Regions Bank.

Mr. Kimberlin was born April 8, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio and was a 1976 graduate of New Lebanon High School where he was a star football player and captain of the wrestling team. He joined the U.S. Army and retired from Ft. Rucker as a fixed wing maintenance instructor. He has resided in Dothan for the past several years and has been employed with the City of Dothan in the landscape division, working in the past with Rose Hill Senior Center and as a docket sergeant with the Dothan Police Department. Sam took pride in his work wherever he was. He enjoyed woodworking and was considered a master carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Kimberlin, Sr. and Phyllis Turner; and his grandmother Edith Moran.

Survivors include his son John Kimberlin; grandchildren, Dianna Marie Kimberlin and Katarina Leigh Kimberlin; best friend Carolyn Vaughan; stepchildren, Hope Fenn and Heath Vaughan; sisters, Beverly Mike Chasteen and Lisa Weddle; a niece Autumn Weddle; a nephew Jack Womble; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
