Auburn Hale, 93, went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 24, 1925 in Dale County to the late Silas Monroe Hale and Ida Bell (Baxley). Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am until 11 am at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Auburn was a loving, devoted father, grandfather, and Christian man. He was a WWII Army Veteran who worked over 30 years as a civil service employee at Fort Rucker. He enjoyed going fishing, gardening, and working in his yard. He was a member of Taylor Baptist Church. Mr. Hale was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jane Hale, his brothers, K. T. and Leon Hale, and by his sister, Elizabeth Guy. Survivors include his daughters, Melinda (Ronald) Anderson, Julia (Joe) Phillips, and Jean (Ronnie) McCraney; his eight grandchildren, his twelve great-grandchildren, and many loving family members.
