Barbara Sue (Whaley) Pratt

Barbara Sue Pratt, a resident of Jacksonville Fl, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020. She was 64. Funeral services will be held at 4pm on Saturday, May 23, 2020 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:30-3:30 pm Barbara was sweet, loving, kind, charismatic, and overall wonderful person. She was a prayer warrior for family who always sought her for guidance. Barbara was a big fan of the New England Patriots and enjoyed watching Tom Brady play. She was known for her beautiful voice and loved to sing at Churches and events. She also sang the National Anthem at baseball games in North Carolina. Barbara established and owned Bobi Sue’s Cupcakes. Her red velvet cupcakes, strawberry cakes, wedding cakes, fondant designs and cookies were some of the community’s favorites. She found joy in seeing everyone's amazement in her cake designs. Barbara was a member of Legacy Ministries Worship center in Jacksonville, Fl. Barbara attended both Fletcher Middle and High School in Neptune Beach Florida which she graduated in 1973. She went on to pursing an MA degree in Pastoral Counseling. Her interest in professional counseling began to develop summer of May 2007. Barbara also was in the Bachelor program at Ashford University where she completed a double major in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in health care administration. She graduated with a 3.0 GPA in May 2012. Barbara took pride in learning how to articulate the contributions of psychology, theology, and spirituality to the development of good metal health in Christians. She also strived for opportunities where she could serve, support, and assist in the growth and success of youth and families. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Larence Pratt; her sons, Joshua Pratt and Jason Pratt; her Niece, Nivea Jackson; her father, Louis Charles Whaley Sr (better known as LC); her step-mother, Raymell Whaley; her brothers, Titus Whaley, Greg Whaley, Timothy Whaley, Louis Whaley Jr, and Anthony Whaley; her sisters, Brenda Walker, Lynn Gibbons, Andrea Haynes, Leslie Marsh, Tabatha Hall, Lisa Conover, and Grace White; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
