Benson Eugene Byram, 85, of Dothan passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at a local hospital.
Services will be 10 am Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Min. Kevin Presley officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-10 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Byram was born March 19, 1928 in Valdosta, GA and moved to Winter Garden, FL at an early age. He later resided in Apopka, FL and Birmingham, AL prior to moving to Dothan in 2010. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was employed with Martin-Marietta as a trouble shooter for their missile projects in the calibration department. He was later employed with Wal-Mart as a greeter for 15 years until his retirement. Mr. Byram was a member of the Hartford Highway Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Byram.
Survivors include his son Darryl Byram; his daughters, Charlotte Richard Marsh and Cheryl Byram; grand-children, Thomas, Matthew, Rebecca, Lakeshia, Zack, Kerry, and Melissa; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Blondell Byram and Ralph Byram; sisters, Christine Tyson and Mettie Davis; several nieces and nephews also survive.
