Bernard (Bernie) Ray Icenogle, 54, a resident of Headland, AL passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, April 24, 2017. He was born on April 30, 1962 in Bloomington, IN.
Bernie was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard and a master of the Wooster Paint Brush as he painted homes and finished cabinets since a young boy. The self-proclaimed “best cabinet finisher” in Dothan, he was probably right.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing with his father, his sons, and his family friend, Grady Bryant.
Bernie was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Icenogle. Survivors include his mother, Nina Icenogle, Dothan; three sons Tony (Tiffany) Hughes, Dothan, Robert (Amber) Icenogle, Auburn, and Jerry (Victoria) Icenogle, Notasulga; three sisters Debbie I. Yurevich, Headland, Susie Icenogle, Slocomb, and Rosie I. (Michael) Butler, Fadette; and, the mother of his sons, Sherry Icenogle. He is also survived by 3 nieces, 3 nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews.
There will be no services at his request. In honor of Bernie, the family requests any contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Covenant Hospice Care.
