Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11-12 pm.
Mrs. Dumas was born on February 10, 1938 in Clanton, Alabama to the late Edward and Bessie Eatress Jacks. She worked for most of her life in a sewing factory along with raising her family. She also worked in convenient stores and driving long distances on a truck with her husband. Mrs. Dumas was a hardworking, independent, strong, woman, who loved her family, especially taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed attending church, cooking, canning, and loved to sing gospel music. Mrs. Dumas was a member of Good Tidings Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Dumas was preceded in death by her parents, her 8 sisters, her 2 brothers, and by her precious daughter, Jeanice Watson.
Survivors include her children, Brenda (Harold) Ayers, James (Claudia) Davis, and Diane (Dave) Oldfather; her son-in-law (husband of Jeanice), Maxwell Monroe Watson, Jr.; her grandchildren, Alex Watson, Amanda Ontjes, James Watson, Shaunna Hurley, Brent Ayers, Amy Vail, Brandy Davis, and Jimmy Davis; her 21 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mois Jean Johnson; and numerous extended family members.
