Betty Jean Byrd, a resident of Midland City passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 82.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Mobley, Rev. Gary Stringfellow and Rev. Crawford Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Midland City Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home. She moved to Dothan in the early 1930’s and graduated from Dothan High School in 1946. Mrs. Byrd resided in Midland City since 1951and she was a homemaker and was the widow of Johnnie Byrd who died 2007. Mrs. Byrd attended Grimes United Methodist ChurchrnMrs. Byrd was preceded in death by two brothers, Rudy Wyatt and Robert Wyatt.rnSurvivors include two daughters Connie Byrd, Pinson, Alabama, Belinda Roberts and her husband, Mike, Midland City; two granddaughters, Kimberly Roberts, Tampa, Florida, Kellie Alvis and her husband, Josh, Birmingham; her sister, Martha Reeves and her husband, Joe, Dothan; two sisters-in-law, Hope Wyatt, Dothan, Virginia Wyatt, Macon, Georgia; several nieces and nephews. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
