Betty Carpenter

March 17, 1936 — June 2, 2012

Betty Carpenter, a resident of Newton, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2012.  She was 76.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royce Morrow and Rev. Ed Quattlebaum.  Burial will follow in Grace Assembly of God Church Cemetery, Newton, AL with Robert Byrd directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 pm.

Mrs. Carpenter was born in 1936 in Geneva County and she lived the early years of her life in Hartford and the High Falls area.  She moved to Newton in 1965 and was employed with the White Knights Sewing Factory for several years and later with Globe Motors for over 20 years until her retirement.  Mrs. Carpenter loved her family and friends and cherished spending time with them.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Edsol Andrews, her second husband, Oras Lee Carpenter, and by her daughter, Barbara Schroeder.  Mrs. Carpenter was a member of Grace Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa Greg Rincon, Panama City, FL, Tawanna Curtis Bundy, Pinckard, AL, and Belinda J. B. Stanford, Dothan, AL; her son and daughter-in-law, Gene Elizabeth Andrews, Ozark, AL; her grandchildren, Ashley David Holmes, Terri Stephen Gibbons, Steven Bundy, and Morgan Stanford; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Karleigh, and Kassidy Gibbons, Cody and Austin Holmes; her brother, Hershel Frances Creamer, Newton, and her brother-in-law, James Elizabeth Andrews, Grimes; her faithful companion, Angel also survives.
