Betty Jean Thompson

Betty Jean Thompson, a residence of Midland City died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 79.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, January 18, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Quincy officiating. Burial will follow in Sylvan Grove Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will received friends at the funeral home Monday from 10 am until service time.Mrs. Thompson was born October 25, 1930 in Dale County. She married Dewitt Thompson in 1946 and she resided in the Sylvan Grove community all of her life. Mrs. Thompson was employed with Village Carriage House as an interior decorator for over 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son, Tommy Thompson, and his wife, Anice, Midland City; two grandchildren, Ashleigh Funk and her husband, Shaun, Orlando, Phillip Thompson, Auburn; her mother, Dura Newton; her sister, Ann King and her husband, Kenny, Pensacola, FL; two nephews, Mike King, Pensacola, FL and Terry King, Baltimore, MD. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
