Billy Ray Chandler

Billy Ray Chandler, a resident of Clayhatchee, Alabama died Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Flowers Hospital. He was 61 years old.

Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home till 8 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside services will follow at 11 am Thursday, September 3, 2009 in Midland City Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing.

Mr. Chandler was born December 23, 1947 in Dale County and he lived most of his life in Midland City. He was an electrician and was employed with Mikie Walding Construction Company for several years prior to his retirement.

Mr. Chandler was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Johnson, his mother, father, and three brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Billy J. Chandler and his wife, Corine, Clayhatchee, and Tony Chandler and his wife, Melissa, Clayhatchee; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grand children; a brother Odell Chandler, Florida; three sisters, Jeanette Key, Midland City, Virginia Sappington, Florida, Nina Sue Bowman, Midland City; several nieces and nephews.
