Billy John Glover, Sr., 76, of Ozark, AL passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 at a local hospital.
rnFuneral services will be held 3 pm Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. rnMr. Glover was born September 10, 1934 in Dale County, AL and lived the early part of his life in Newton. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years until his military retirement in 1973. He later worked for several years as an area manager for Days Inn while living in Kissimmee, FL prior to moving to the Dothan area where he lived for 25 years. He worked with Hobo Pantry for 15 years prior to his retirement in 2008 and was a member of the VFW. Mr. Glover was preceded in death by his daughter Kay Watford. rnSurvivors include his wife Linda Glover of Ozark; sons, Billy "John" Ann Glover, Jr. of Kissimmee, FL, and George Allen Glover of Key West, FL; 8 grandchildren, Kristie Fogarty, Kara James, Kacey Watford, Billy John Glover III, Jennifer Glover, Joshua Glover, Jayna Glover, and Jed Glover; 5 great-grandchildren, Kayden Fogarty, Josiah Fogarty, Karisa Fogarty, Kohlton James, and Kason James; a brother Bobby Wayne Glover of Headland; sisters, Sue McCardle of South Roxana, IL and Sara Dixon of Panama City, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive.
