Billy Frank Hammonds

Rev. Billy Frank Hammonds, age 79, of Dothan, passed away, Thursday, November 14, 2013.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Calvary Baptist  Church with Rev. Denny Burk officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Calvary from 1pm until 2pm Sunday.

Rev. Hammonds was born February 14, 1934 in Milan TN and grew up in the Jackson area. He was ordained as a Baptist minister at age 22, and went to college in Jackson and on the seminary in Texas. He pastored while in school and continued his ministry throughout the south for the next 57 years. He never met a stranger or an instrument that he could not play!

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bowman Hammonds; son, Dr. Mark Hammonds Jill; daughter, Lisa Hunt Dr. Lewis Hunt; brothers, Joe Hammonds Lynda, Ronnie Hammonds Lueweda; grandchildren, Lauren, Hayden, Lana, Hunter, Landon, Halson, and 1 who preceded him in death Levi Hunt 2.
