Billy Joe Strickland

Billy Joe Strickland of Ozark passed away Thursday August 29, 2013 at Flowers Hospital after an extended illness at the age of 44.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday September 5, 2013 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church on County Road 15 with Brother Clyde Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Billy Joe Strickland was born in Dale County of April 25, 1969 to Marcus “Junior” Strickland and Margie Evelyn Strickland. He was self-employed as a construction worker and drywall hanger. He was a true outdoorsman.

He is survived by his wife, Lizzie Strickland; a daughter, Megan Strickland; a son, Josh Strickland and wife Lisa; brother, Bobby Strickland and wife Catherine; great-aunt Kathleen Grimes, great-uncle Luther Strickland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He joined his parents Margie and Junior Strickland; grandparents, Lois and Marcus Strickland; Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Gibson.
