We are gathered in loving memory of Bobbie Jo Denney, a vivacious and spirited soul, who passed away on October 7, 2024, at the age of 48, in her hometown of Dothan, AL. Bobbie Jo, known for her infectious laughter and adventurous spirit, was born on December 23, 1975, to parents Bobby and Emily Lafaye Deese, also of Dothan, where she spent her entire life.
Bobbie Jo attended school at Midland City until the 10th grade, after which she embarked on a career that touched the lives of many. She dedicated a significant part of her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Wesley Place, a testament to her nurturing and selfless nature. Bobby Joe also brought joy and comfort to many with her work at Kelly's Deli and her time at Boyd’s Marina, where she brightened the days of boaters with her bubbly personality while washing boats.
An artist at heart, Bobbie Jo had a profound love for singing, painting, and drawing. Her creativity was a beacon of light and inspiration. She had a particular affinity for the beach, where she felt most at peace and connected to the world around her. Those who knew her will fondly remember her as the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a smile, and never failing to make others laugh.
Bobbie Jo's legacy is carried on by her loving family, who stood by her through thick and thin. She is survived by her devoted parents, Bobby and Emily Lafaye Deese; her cherished children, Bronwyn Deese and Samuel Denney, who were her pride and joy; her caring brother, Jeffrey Turner; her supportive sister, Jaime Thompson; and her special aunt and uncle, Len and Marie Peterson, who held a unique place in her heart.
