Bobby Ray Bowden

January 26, 1941 — February 12, 2009

Bobby Ray Bowden, a resident of Daleville, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at his residence. He was 68.

Memorial services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Watson officiating and Robert Byrd directing.

Mr. Bobby Bowden was born on January 26, 1941 in Newton, AL and lived the early years of his life in Wicksburg and graduated from Wicksburg High School. He was a musician and played with the Bob Donaldson Trio and was also a Disc Jockey with WAGF and was known as Bob Walker. Mr. Bowden also worked as a bail bondsman with Love Bonding and was a former member of the Optimists Club of Dothan. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Masonic Order.

Mr. Bowden was preceded in death by his father Henry Ray Bowden, his mother R.V. Flowers and his step-father Bully Flowers.

Survivors include his companion Jacqueline Grimes; his son Bobby Ray Bowden of Little Rock, Ark; daughters, Sylvia Bowden Young and her husband Robert of Little Rock, Ark, Pamela Bowden Goldston and her husband John of Dothan, Cynthia Bowden Eccles and her husband Mark of Slocomb, Laura Bowden Massey of Dothan; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother Terry Bowden and his wife Shirley of Wicksburg; a sister Nineva Watson and her husband Joe of Kinsey; several nieces and nephews.
