Bobby Edward Riley

July 25, 1962 — April 22, 2024

Dothan

Bobby Edward Riley, known affectionately as Bobby to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, at the age of 61 in his hometown of Dothan, Alabama. Born on July 25, 1962, in Dothan, he was a man whose life was as rich and vibrant as the gardens he tended.

Bobby's early years were spent under the warm Alabama sun, where he developed a love for the outdoors that would last a lifetime. He attended Dale County High School, where he formed many lifelong friendships and graduated with the class that would remember him for his kind heart and ready smile.

After high school, Bobby chose a path that allowed him to work with his hands and be close to the earth he loved so much. He started his own business, maintaining lawns of his neighbors and community members. His work was not just a job; it was a testament to his dedication to nurturing growth and creating beauty wherever he could.

A man of faith, Bobby was an active member of Harvest Church in Dothan. His commitment to his church was evident in the way he lived his life, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement to those around him. He believed in the power of community and the strength that comes from fellowship.

Bobby's interests extended beyond his work and church. He was happiest when he was outdoors, working in his yard, or helping a friend with a project. His generosity of spirit was boundless, and he often volunteered his time and skills to assist those in need. His presence was a source of comfort and joy to many, and his willingness to help others was a hallmark of his character.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Brady, his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Wiggins, and her husband, Aaron, and his three grandchildren, Abby, Grace, and Wyatt Wiggins. Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Earl Riley, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. His grandparents, Pleamon Bud Newsome and Emma Jane Newsome, and his half-brother, Daniel Ray, also preceded him in death. They left a legacy of love and family that Bobby carried with him throughout his life.

Bobby's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire us. His life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity, the joy of giving, and the importance of kinship. As we say goodbye to Bobby Edward Riley, we take solace in the knowledge that his legacy will live on in the gardens he tended, the community he served, and the family he adored.
