Bonnie Anders

Bonnie Anders, 67, a resident of Dothan passed away February 9, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 4pm Monday, February 15, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stacy Stafford officiating.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, Children’s Ministry, Wiregrass Humane Society or to your favorite charity.

Ms. Anders was born December 3, 1948 in Rochester, New York and she lived there and in Bath, NY the early years of her life. Later she was employed at a Day Care Center in St. Louis, MO. She moved to Dothan in 1994 and attended Troy University where she received a PHD in Marriage and Family Therapy. Ms. Anders was employed with Dale County Department of Human Resources for several years until her retirement. At the time of her death she was a volunteer chaplain with Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church where she taught Children’s Church as well as a volunteer with the American Red Cross for over 45 years.

Ms. Anders survivors include her aunts and uncle, Marion Anders husband Frank, deceased, William and Margaret Pum all of Rochester, New York; several nieces and cousins.

Ms. Anders was preceded in death by her parents, Karol and Hilda Anders; her brother, Bob Anders.
