Brenda Joyce Henderson, 60, of Dothan passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. David Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Brenda was born December 23, 1952 in Houston County and lived her early childhood in Pinckard, AL. She moved to Dothan during her junior high school years and was a 1971 graduate of Dothan High School. She was a part of the 2nd Graduating class from the Wallace College Registered Nursing Program and later received her BSN from Auburn University-Montgomery in 2008. Brenda was employed as a certified case manager for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama for 20 years. She continued her love of nursing and patient care at HealthSouth. Her other loves in life were gardening, singing, and most of all she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the American Certified Case Managers.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin and Minnie Bell Ott and her grandparents, Cletus and Bonnie Courtney and Amos and Lela Ott.
Survivors include her husband Eddie Henderson of Dothan; her children, Zac Henderson, Joshua Lowe, and Logan Blake Golden; grandchildren, Micaela Lowe, Emma Lowe, Gavin Lowe, and Brooks Golden; brothers and sisters, Carlton Ott, Marissa Ott, Joann Stinson, and Carole Bridges; nieces and nephews, Mandy Faulk, Becky Birdsong, Bubba Ott, Shea Windham, Crissy Hallford, Teresa Mancuso, Patricia Hughes, Susan Snuggs, and Maria Mosier.
