Brenda Joyce Stanford

Brenda Joyce Stanford, a resident of Newton, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at her residence. She was 64.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Newton First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Andy Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Newton First Assembly of God. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Vivian B. Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Rd., Ozark, AL, 36360.

Ms. Stanford was born on August 7, 1944. Brenda, better known as "BoBo" to her family was a resident of Newton, AL and a member of the Newton First Assembly of God Church. Brenda was a student at Vivian B. Adams School and has attended that school since it opened in 1972.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father Quenton Stanford, and a sister-in-law Delaine Stanford.

Survivors include her loving mother and caretaker, Iva Nora Stanford of Newton, as well as her beloved dog Brandi; 3 brothers, Ted Stanford of Newton, Dean Stanford and his wife Brenda of Newton, Mark Stanford and his wife Fay of Newton; Nieces and Nephews, Eric Stanford and his wife Heather of Newton, Jason Stanford and his wife Christy of Newton, Brantley Brockett and his wife Amber of Dothan, Nicole Grider and her husband Andy of Newton, Tracey Allen and her husband Ryan of Newton, Anna Stanford of Newton, Danny Hicks of Warner-Robbins, GA, Jimmy Hicks and his wife Misty of Midland City; several Aunts and Uncles.
