Brian Etheredge

July 13, 1969 — January 25, 2015

William Brian Etheredge, 45, of Dothan, our amazing husband and dad, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 25, 2015.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Shepherd Center Hospital for Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries, 2020 Peachtree Rd NW, Atlanta, GA, 30309.

Brian was born July 13, 1969 in Enterprise, AL and spent the early part of his life in Daleville. He was a 1988 graduate of Daleville High School and a 1992 graduate of Troy University. He was employed with the State of Alabama for the past 19 years as a highly regarded Adoption Placement Consultant. Brian has resided in Dothan since 1993 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a member of the Community Ministries Board. Brian was a lifelong avid golfer, and played as captain of the Troy University Golf Team while enrolled there. He was also a fan of Alabama Football, and enjoyed watching games with his family and friends. Above all, Brian loved his wife and son abundantly and publicly, and regardless of any adversity placed in his way they were his focus, his life, and his driving force.

Survivors include his wife Lisa Etheredge and their son Brandon; his father Wess Terri Etheredge; his mother Janice Thompson; his brothers, Andy Etheredge, Scott Kim Etheredge, Chris Chasity Etheredge, Earle Jamea Thompson Jr.; his sister Tanya Joey Deavers; mother-in-law Mary Arnold; sister-in-law Karen Duncan; nephews and nieces A.J. Etheredge, Ariel Etheredge, Ethan Etheredge, Scott Sara Deavers, Leslie Dana Wright Beckham, Matthew Thompson, Lindsey Jarod Andrews, Logan Goulart, and Jenna Goulart.

Brian was preceded in death by his infant sister Angie Etheredge; grandparents, A.P. and Lena Merle Etheredge, Jewell Dillard, and Grandma Nellie Mae Summers; step-father Earle Thompson Sr.; father-in-law Paul Arnold.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brad McGraw, Henry Barnard, David Lewis, Heath Morris, Frankie Ward, and Patrick Tessman.
