Buford L. Moss

August 3, 1938 — October 24, 2018

Buford Lionel Moss, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at his residence. He was 80. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Friday evening from 5-7 pm. Mr. Moss was born on August 3, 1938 in Houston County and lived the early part of his life in Cottonwood. He joined the US Army and served in the Vietnam War where he was injured and had to medically retire. Mr. Moss later was employed with the US Postal Service for 37 years prior to his retirement in 2007. He loved to tinker in his shop. Mr. Moss was a member of Mt. Enon Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Moss; his son, Kenneth (Doris) Moss; his 2 grandchildren, Justin Shirley and Adam Moss; his brothers-in-law, Bobby Watkins, James Watkins, and Grady (Kay) Watkins; his sister, Pearl Exum; and his sister-in-law, Mary Bruce; several nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date October 27, 2018 Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Friday evening from 5-7 pm.
