Bunny Whitehouse

March 26, 1922 — January 10, 2017

Anna Bernice Whitehouse (Bunny) was born in Lawton, Iowa on March 26, 1922. She passed away on January 10, 2017 in Brentwood, TN. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and six siblings. Her husband of 49 years, Lt. Col. Richard K. Whitehouse, passed away in 2002.

An active military wife, she adapted to living across the United States from Alaska to Alabama where she lived in Dothan from 1959-2010 when she moved to Nashville, TN to be close to her daughters and their families.

Bunny is survived by five children: Linda Raymer (Elwyn) Franklin, TN; Suellen Joyner (Leon) Brentwood, TN; Lynda Jean Whitehouse, Albuquerque, NM; Jere Whitehouse, Montgomery, AL; Debora Whitehouse, Green Valley, AZ; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

“Miss Bunny” was an accomplished musician who loved travel and entertaining. Her dinner parties and holiday gatherings were favorite events of family and friends.

After her children were grown, she owned and operated a ceramic studio and enjoyed a successful career working with the bridal registry at Northcutt’s on Main in Dothan, Alabama. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dothan where she sang in the choir for many years.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the First Baptist Church Dothan with Dr. Johnny Fain officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Dothan, AL Music Program or the charity of your choice.
