Candace Nicole Hughes Mercer, of Pansey, passed away unexpectedly Thursday August 26, 2010 at her residence. She was 30.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Troy West officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.Candace was born December 14, 1979 in Houston County and lived the early years of her life in Kinsey. She later moved to the Blackwoods Community and was a 1999 graduate of Dale County High School. She resided in Pansey for the past 3 years and was a member of the DAV Junior Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary and loved to write poetry.Candace was preceded in death by her parents Garth and Candace Kennedy; her husband Billy Lane; her grandfather Murray Stinson; and an uncle and aunt, Gary and Marsha Stinson.Survivors include her husband, Michael Mercer of Pansey; a sister Tonya Kirkland and her husband Ronnie of Pansey; her grandparents, Ann Stinson Mann of Pansey, Dwight and Mathel Kennedy of Blackwoods Community; her mother-in-law Rebecca Senuta of Dothan; father-in-law, Thomas Senuta of Venezuela; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nate and Audrey Hofer, Victoria and Tyrone Lovick, Tasha Senuta, and Jennifer Senuta; an uncle and aunt James and Misty McMillan of Blackwood Community; a cousin Shanda Jerkins and her husband Chris of Cowarts; a special friend Sandra McKenzie of Pansey; several nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
