Carla Rae Vann

Carla Rae Layton Vann, a resident of Dothan departed this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 43 years old. Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Durry officiating. Carla was born into this world on April 11, 1975. She was preceded in death by her father, G.W. Layton and her loving husband, Cletus Eugene Vann. Although she wasn't able to have children of her own, she had Yodi the pug whom she treated as her own child, who will also be with her in Heaven. Carla was a loving daughter and friend to many who also knew her as "Birdy." Survivors include her beloved mother, Peggy Layton; her sister, Jennifer Layton; her best friend, Angela Cole Anderson; along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
