Carol Langford Bastien

Carol Langford Bastien departed earth for her home in heaven on Monday, November 6, 2017. She was 73.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11 am in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 – 11 am on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the M&M’s senior adult ministry at Cloverdale Baptist Church, 806 Dexter Street, Dothan, AL 36301.

Mrs. Bastien was born on November 4, 1944 to Earnest and Lilie Langford of Headland, Alabama. She graduated, with honors, from Headland High School in 1963 and from Troy College in 1967. Carol taught school in the Houston County system for 12 years; most of the time at Rehobeth. In 1979 she and her husband, Bill, relocated to Ft. Worth, TX for Bill , to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Carol became acquisitions librarian for the seminary and retired from that position in 1999. She and her husband returned to Dothan, AL, upon retirement, in 2005. Carol loved her Lord and was a faithful member of Cloverdale Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Bob Craddock and sister-in-law, Susan Holster.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; her sister, Jean Craddock (John) Beasley; brothers-in-law, Mike (Tonja) Bastien, Fred (Susan deceased) Holster; sister-in-law, Anne (Charles) Eddins; nieces and nephews, Frank (Linda) Craddock, Debbie (Garry) Moore, Kimberly (Brad) Grimes, Heather (Mike) Cardwell, Elise Bastien and Micah McGowan; and great nieces and nephews, Caroline (Courtney) Raville, Scott (Jessica) Moore, Grant (fiancé Erica Carter) Moore and Amy Moore.

Pallbearers will be Mike Bastien, Micah McGowan, Garry Moore, Scott Moore, Grant Moore, Courtney Raville, Charles Eddins and Frank Holster. The “donut gang” and her Sunday School class will be honorary pall bearers.

The family would like to express their gratitude for many friends who have shown love and concern during Carol’s extended illness. The family would also like to say a special “thank you” to her niece, Amy Moore and Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care for Carol during her illness; especially her nurse, Amy.< /p> ) Burial Date November 9, 2017
