Carol Snell Gruber, a beacon of kindness and unwavering faith, received her heavenly healing on June 17, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 17, 1950, in Houston County, Alabama, Carol's life was a testament to her gentle spirit and enduring strength.

A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Carol is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Gruber; her children, Bill Turner, Melody Peacock (Wayne), and Rebecca Brooks (Christopher); her cherished grandchildren, Makala Peacock, Savannah Brooks, Shelby Turner, Owen Brooks, Elijah Turner, and Selah Turner; her brother, Willard Snell, Jr. (Marie); and her sister, Ann Jordan (Mark), along with five nieces. Carol's legacy of love and compassion is a treasure to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess Willard Snell and Juanita Killingsworth Snell, who instilled in her the values of family and faith that she carried throughout her life.

Carol's journey in education began at Dothan High School, where she graduated in 1968. Her passion for learning and helping others flourish led her to Troy University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in 1972. Carol dedicated 36 years of her life to teaching at Dothan City Schools, where she nurtured countless students until her retirement in 2008. Even after retiring, Carol continued to share her knowledge, tutoring children before illness prevented her from doing so.

Carol's interests reflected her character; she was gentle, faithful, kind, and caring, with a heart that overflowed with love for children. She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her existence, allowing her to be a pillar of strength and wisdom for her family.

Those who knew Carol would describe her as faith-filled, kind, and gentle. Her warm presence and nurturing spirit were a comfort to all. Carol's unwavering dedication to her family, her students, and her faith left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.

As we celebrate a life lived with grace and purpose, Carol's memory will continue to inspire us to live with the same compassion and devotion that she exemplified. Her spirit will live on in the lessons she taught, the love she shared, and the beautiful memories she created with all who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 2:00pm in the Sunset Memorial Park Chapel. Pastor Ray Jones to officiate. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Carol will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
