Carolyn Brown, 54, of Dothan passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following a brief battle with breast cancer.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday, December 29, 2012 at United Christian Fellowship, 208 W. Lafayette St., Dothan, AL, 36301, with Bishop Carl McComb. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Ms. Brown was born February 26, 1958 in Newville, AL and spent the early part of her life there. She attended Headland High School. and has been employed with Extendicare Health and Rehab as a Certified Nursing Assistant for the past 14 years. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Center Baptist Church in Newville, AL. Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Coley and Mary Brown; a sister, Annie Rachel Thomas; brothers, Robert Brown, Johnny C. Brown, and Jerry Lee Brown; and her grandmother Fannie Bighem.

Survivors include her husband Bobby Freeman of Dothan; a son G.W. "Joshua" Caldwell of Dothan; a daughter Courtney C. Freeman of Dothan; grandchildren, Aaliyah, Shaniya, Micah, Joseph, Kain, Jowaughn, and Kian Caldwell; brothers, Carl Gussie Brown of Webb, Julius Verdell Brown of Neville, and Frederick Brown of Dothan; sisters, Janice Bobby Wiggins of Headland, Ruth Willie B. of Howell, NJ, Ethel Critten of Dothan, and Rose M. Rambo of Dothan; special friends, Jennifer Smith of Dothan and Carolyn McKinnie of Campbellton, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins also survive.
