Carolyn Chambers

July 16, 1970 — April 10, 2013

Carolyn Evonn Chambers, 42, of Dothan departed this life on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

The celebration of life will be 11 am Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Dothan Community Church with Pastor W. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Carolyn was born in Dothan, Alabama on July 16, 1970. She enjoyed taking care of children no matter the age. They just knew her as “Mama Carol.” Carolyn joined Dothan Community Church March 17, 2001 where she was a faithful member. She graduated from Dothan High School in 1989 and went on to earn a Certificate of Licensed Practical Nursing from Wallace Community College in 1993. She also attended Graceville Baptist College in 2003 while obtaining a degree in Children Ministry. She worked as a Childcare teacher.

Carolyn was preceded into the Gates of Heaven by her grandparents John Lee and Ella Maude Chambers; her father Remus Callins; her uncle T.C. Chambers; and a sister Rena Mae Callins.

Carolyn is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Kenyette Saywon; Carolyn is lovingly remembered by her mother Yvonne Chambers; step-mother Margie Callins; step-father Johnny Lee Williams; four brothers, Randy Callins, Gary Lisa Chambers, Odell Ann Chambers, and Rodell Priscilla Chamber; five sisters, Marie Thomas McIntyre, Senitha James Wood, Doris Marcus Williams, Felicia Charles Myhand, and Angelie Walter Johnson; Uncles, Jab Clydele Chambers and James Bradberry; an aunt Mary Cotton; a host of aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Chambers, Randy Callins, Odell Chambers, Rodell Chambers, Daniel Jackson, and Charles “Callins” Myhand.

Burial Date: January 1, 1970
