Catherine Kitty Cullina Risher

November 21, 1954 — January 18, 2017

Catherine “Kitty” Cullina Risher passed away on January 18, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Kitty was born in Anchorage Alaska on November 21, 1954, she graduated from Armstrong State College in Savannah, Ga with her BA in psychology. She moved to the Wiregrass area in 1986 and went on to achieve her MBA at Troy University. Kitty worked Civil Service in Alaska, Korea and Fort Rucker for 35 years. She was a very special lady who was a giving and loving person. Kitty enjoyed spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren. Kitty retired in 2010 and dedicated her life to ministry at St. Columba in Dothan, AL.

She is survived by her husband Deacon Richard Risher, her son, Sean (Jenny) Risher; her daughters, Dawn (Mark) Beckner, and Georgia (Chris) Watson; her grandchildren, Jacob Evans, Lily Watson, Emma Watson, Savannah Risher, Jack Risher and Jay Risher; her father James Cullina; her brothers, Sean Cullina and James Cullina; her sisters, Terri Cullina, Beth Cullina, Ann Hanks and Peggy Sims; several nieces and nephews and loving extended family.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Columba Catholic Church, 2700 West Main St. Dothan, AL on the 29th of January at 12:30 pm with a celebration of her life and reception immediately following at O’Hara Hall.
