Chalmus C. “Buck” Chapman, a resident of Headland passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Flowers Hospital. He was 76.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.Mr. Chapman was born on February 1, 1933 in Perry, GA and lived there the early years of his life. He resided in Macon, GA and was a State Trooper with the Georgia Highway Patrol for several years. Mr. Chapman moved to the Dothan area where he resided for over 40 years and was employed with Bondy’s Ford since 1982. He was a member of Berean Baptist Church. Survivors include his children, Scott Chapman, Clint Chapman, Mitchell Cureton, Michael Cureton, Raymond Cureton, Jeannie Hamilton; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Skeet Chapman, Edward Chapman, Leonard Chapman; a special friend and caretaker Jean Cureton Chapman; several nieces and nephews also survive.
