Charles R. Douglas of Kinsey, AL passed away September 1, 2021 at Southeast Health in Dothan after an extended illness. He was 54 years old.

Charles was a 1986 graduate of Headland High School. He started his career with Kinsey as their Water Systems Operator. He worked with numerous towns in Alabama with their water systems. He was working with the Town of Taylor when he retired with over 20 years of service. He served on the council for the Town of Kinsey from 1996 until he became Mayor of Kinsey in 2016. Charles was a beloved member of the community who had a heart of gold that was always willing to help those in need. He will be greatly missed.

Charles was preceded by his parents JC and Shirley Douglas and special friends Henry D and Gwen Martin along with sister Connie Sue Douglas all of Kinsey.

He is survived by a son Charles Jordan Douglas, Kinsey, AL. and a daughter Baylee Daum (Joseph) of Wicksburg, AL; three grandchildren, Rylee and Sophia Douglas of Kinsey, AL and Logan Daum of Wicksburg, AL; siblings, twin sister Charlotte Renee Duke, Kinsey, Sherry Maldonado of Panama City, FL and JR Douglas; a special Aunt and Uncle MC and Sarah Douglas, Kinsey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends; and a beloved dog, Ranger.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Fiona Masters for all of her exceptional love and care.

A memorial service will be at 588 JW Rich Road at the home of his aunt and uncle in Kinsey on September 11, 2021 at 5:30 p.m.
