Charles Gissendanner

Charles Gissendanner, 58, of Dothan passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Morris officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Gissendanner was born January 31, 1954 in Dale County, AL and lived the early part of his life in Ewell, AL. He resided most of his life in Pinckard, AL and was employed with Bennett Construction Company for more than 15 years and was a member of Bethel AME Church in Pinckard, AL.

Survivors include his special friend Barbara Toro of Dothan; his children, Danny McDaniel of Ozark, Brian Gissendanner of Birmingham, Derrick Scott of Midland City, Quaderia Gissendanner of Dothan, Tamiko Gissendanner of Birmingham, Tiffany Scott of Midland City, Chavonna Scott of Dothan, and Jabria Scott of Midland City; 22 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 2 brothers, Roy Gissendanner of San Antonio, TX and Bobby Gissendanner of St. Louis, MO; 2 sisters, Mary Francis Gissendanner of Rochester, NY and Ann Thomas of Somerset, NJ; a Godsister Corene Townsend Maynor of Dothan, AL; and a special cousin Gregory Morris of Dothan also survives.
