Charles E. Goldsborough

Charles Edward Goldsborough, of Dothan, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at a local hospital. He was 95.

rnA Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, February 17, 2012 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home, and a Rosary service will be held following the visitation. rnMr. Goldsborough was born on March 12, 1916 in Mobile, Alabama. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Goldsborough moved to Dothan in 1956 where he owned and operated Schad Flower Shop for many years. He was an avid hunter, golfer, and fisherman. Mr. Goldsborough was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, the Dothan Elk’s Lodge, and the American Legion. rnMr. Goldsborough is preceded in death by his parents, his Aunt Wilhelmina Schad, and by his grandson, Brian Goldsborough. rnMr. Goldsborough is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Nell Goldsborough, Dothan; his two sons, Jimmy Linda Goldsborough and Bobby Dianne Goldsborough; his grandchildren, Danny Goldsborough, Andy Goldsborough, Terri Ronnie Dodson, Greg Heather Goldsborough, and Brandy Goldsborough; his great-grandchildren, Jack, Gus, and Kate. The family would like to thank Dr. Dunn, Dr. Spedale, and all the doctors and staff at Flowers Hospital for their care during the past several days and expresses a special thank you to Mary Alice Pitchford. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
