Charles B. Oglesby

January 13, 1941 — February 1, 2016

Charles B. Oglesby Master Sergeant USAF Ret., 75, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at a local hospital.

On Thursday, February 4, 2016, visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in Dothan, AL. Memorial services will follow from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Dr. Max McKinney officiating.

A second visitation will be held Friday, February 5, 2016, at the First Assembly of God Church in Southport, FL, from Noon to 2:00 pm and funeral services starting at 2:00 pm with Rev. Roger Dale Hagan officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Southport Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Southport, FL.

Mr. Oglesby was born January 13, 1941 in Millington, TN and resided there the early part of his life. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for over 23 years and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He moved to Ashford, AL in 1985 and graduated from Ozark Aviation School with an A&P License. He was then employed with McDonnell-Douglas in Saudi Arabia, Hayes International, PEMCO, and finally with Army Fleet Support, retiring in 2007. Mr. Oglesby was a member of the Southport Volunteer Fire Department and was Certified with the Department of Homeland Security. He was a long-standing member and deacon of Northside Assembly of God Church in Dothan, AL and also attended First Assembly of God Church of Southport, FL.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dianna Riley Oglesby; four children:  Kenneth Christine Oglesby, Kathy David Little, Krista Hanna and Andy Oglesby, four grandchildren: Lisa Raley, Leanna Denham, Dawson Hanna, Angelyse Hanna and Annaleigh Little; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Raley; a sister, Agnes Miller and many nieces and nephews.
